Female genital mutilation (FGM)

FGM is a procedure where the female genitals are deliberately cut, altered, or removed. There is no medical reason for this to be done. It can cause damage and emotional distress.

FGM is a form of abuse, and it is illegal in the UK.  If you or someone you know is worried about FGM, you can get help and support.
