Pregnancy testing

If you think you might be pregnant, the first thing you need to do is take a pregnancy test.

You can buy a pregnancy test to do it yourself, or have the test done for free by going to:

  • Your GP surgery
  • One of our sexual health clinics

Please note that if you do the test yourself, this will need to be confirmed with your GP or a sexual health service.

What to do if you are pregnant

If the test confirms you are pregnant, it is important to contact your GP as soon as possible. You may be booked in for a scan to find out how far along your pregnancy is. Depending on the outcome of this, you may have the option to choose whether to continue with your pregnancy or have a termination. If you continue with your pregnancy, you may want to consider adoption. Your Spectrum clinic can offer you support if you need it.
