Wakefield HIV services

Spectrum Community Health CIC works with BHA for Equality, to provide a range of non-clinical sexual health services across Wakefield.

Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust provides HIV treatment and care for people living with HIV and choosing to access care in Wakefield, as well as Leeds, Dewsbury and Pontefract.

How to register

To register as a new client, transfer your care to us from another clinic or for any other enquiries call 0800 1214860 and ask to speak to a Health Advisor, who will take your details and make an appointment for you.

Emergency HIV prescriptions

If you are likely to run out of your HIV medication before your appointment, please contact Leeds NHS Trust Brotherton Wing Clinic on 0113 392 6762 to request an emergency prescription. You will need to provide us with us your clinic number and date of birth.

HIV treatment and care

Testing positive and after care

If you test positive for HIV, we will discuss the options for treatment with you. It is recommended that people with HIV start treatment as soon as possible.

Treatment in Wakefield is provided by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the Brotherton Wing Clinic, and they run a clinical service twice a week from Trinity Walk Clinic. You can choose to be seen in the Wakefield clinic, or attend the clinics held at Leeds General infirmary. We will make a referral for you and the Brotherton Wing Clinic team will contact you with an appointment.
