Barnsley HIV services

HIV services in Barnsley are provided by Spectrum Community Health CIC at our sexual health clinic at Gateway Plaza, Sackville Street, Barnsley, S70 2RD.

Our services are commissioned by Barnsley Hospital NHS FT.

We are part of the South Yorkshire HIV Network, which means we work closely with related specialities throughout South Yorkshire, as well as having close links with Barnsley Hospital and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

How to register

To register as a new client, transfer your care to us from another clinic or for any other enquiries call 0800 0556442 and ask to speak to a Health Advisor, who will take your details and make an appointment for you.

Emergency HIV prescriptions

If you are likely to run out of your HIV medication before your appointment, please contact Spectrum’s Barnsley sexual health clinic on 0800 0556442 to request an emergency prescription. You will need to provide us with us your clinic number and date of birth.

HIV treatment and care

Testing positive and after care

If you test positive for HIV, we will discuss the options for treatment with you. It is recommended that people with HIV start treatment as soon as possible.

Treatment in Barnsley is provided by Spectrum Community Health CIC at our clinic at Gateway Plaza, in a relaxed and non-judgemental environment.

The team at Spectrum includes:

  • HIV specialist consultants
  • Nurses
  • Sexual health advisers
